Larkey Park Hosts Council Candidate Forum 4 x 2 nights = 8 candidates

Updated: Sep 17, 2020

Hi Larkey Park Neighbors:

We hope you're all managing to stay healthy, happy, and wise during this very strange year. And if you haven't noticed, 2020 is an election year.

This November, the Walnut Creek City Council race has three (3) of a total five (5) seats up for grabs and there are eight (8) candidates running for those three seats. That's a record number of candidates for this race. All three incumbents are running as well as five newcomers. As you might remember, Larkey Park Neighbors United (LPNU) regularly has had to remind City Council about the needs (and sometimes the existence) of our wonderful part of the city over the past few years. Before COVID derailed the plans to gather together, LPNU had started to put together a list of areas of focus to improve and enhance our neighborhood. Our intention was to prioritize that list and start to bring it to the attention of city officials. Because we couldn't all meet together as a community, those plans were put on hold.

But now there's Zoom as a way to gather together and most of us have figured out how it works...kind of! So we decided to bring those vying for the three open city council seats to the Larkey Park neighborhood virtually to present their case to earn your vote and to answer questions and concerns of the Larkey Park community.

We hope you can join us! There will be two nights next week, both Monday and Tuesday from 5 pm to 6 pm with four candidates each night. That gives us more time to get to know each of them. When you click below to register to get the Zoom meeting information, you'll be signing up for both nights with one RSVP. Here's the format and agenda.
